How Does This Make Sense?

Lots of things in life don’t make a lot of sense. That is especially true when it comes to the Christian faith.

  • Why is it that teachers in our schools present as established facts things that directly contradict what God’s Word says is true?
  • If John 3:16 is easy believism, then wouldn’t James 2:14 be hard to believe?
  • Why is it that governments think we can control the climate when they can’t control their own currencies?
  • If the Bible is the Word of God, then why aren’t all churches Bible churches?
  • Do preachers think we’re stupid when they say that everlasting life is a free gift, but that it costs us everything?
  • If eternal security is not true, then why do people think that if they get to heaven, they won’t be in danger any longer?
  • Why do we pay actors millions to tell us the lines of a screenwriter yet pennies to those who tell us God’s message of everlasting life?
  • If our laws are based on the commandments found in the Bible, why can’t public schools teach children about the Bible?
  • Why is it that believing Jesus died on the cross is simply a matter of being persuaded that is true, but believing in Jesus for everlasting life is a matter of repentance, surrender, following Him, and perseverance?
  • If justification is by faith alone, then how can justification be by repentance, faith, and ongoing obedience?
  • Is there any correlation between a college education and the fact that most people end church attendance at age 18?
  • Why is the death penalty immoral if God prescribed the death penalty for certain offenses?
  • If someone getting a doctorate in French literature must read and understand French, why can someone get a doctorate in theology without being able to read and understand Greek and Hebrew?
  • On what planet can a young man who doesn’t shave yet be called an elder?
  • Why does a preacher raise his voice and pound the pulpit when he forgets his point?
  • If assurance is found in believing what God has said and done, why do so many people seek assurance in what they have said and done?
  • How can someone love God and yet not love what He has said to us in His Word?
  • If setting our hearts on treasure in heaven is selfish and immature, then why did Jesus tell us to do that?
